Remember to celebrate the small wins!

Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries and promotions! These are some of the things that we are consistent about celebrating. However, what about when we stay up late and finish a project or forego attending a party to complete a book? It is often those wins that we do not have an audience for... yet we do not celebrate them for ourselves. I would like to challenge you to begin to celebrate for you if you are not currently doing so. This practice will keep you humble and help you to not seek the validation of others' praise about work that was required to have a successful outcome. I often remind myself that what I do is a small piece in a big puzzle of life. My ability to celebrate me builds trust in me to follow my intuition more frequently that will lead to more success.
Today I will be celebrating the one year anniversary of Elephant Strategy Club that I co-founded with Summer DeCoste. We were complete strangers who met on the Clubhouse platform. Our goal was to have a room titled "How to eat an elephant in 21 days?" in Clubhouse for 21 days in order to be eligible to have our own club. Now we are here a year later and we have 10x that goal with having over 210 rooms in our club. I believe our success stems from having clarity on our mission- which is to talk about the hard topics(the elephant in the room) and create strategies to overcome them. Everyday the "elephant in the room" changed and this allowed us to grow daily. We now have created a community of likeminded people who all value facing hard things and taking positive action. This year we meet on Monday and Friday at 9:30 am EST while members of our club have stepped up to host room Tuesday-Thursday. We have successfully fostered relationships and meet ups outside of this platform and have extended our club to Facebook and LinkedIn.
I believe the key to our success in our club is transparency. The ability to curate a safe space for whoever enters our room is a gift. We have the confidence of feeling safe enough to talk about our flaws and remove judgements so that we can work on solution oriented thinking. It is the entire community that makes us strong because we all share our unique perspectives which gives us more options to explore rather than remain stagnant in our issues.
It is also the unexpected gifts in the mail that bring so much joy to each of us. We love taking time to use small gifts of encouragement to acknowledge the work that we are ALL doing to evolve daily to be a better person. We have learned during our time to get rid of the limiting beliefs and to build our confidence to open our own clubs, rooms, host webinars, write books, etc.

I am happy to have started a series that I call "Bold Voices." This is a virtual meeting series that allows me the opportunity to discuss highlights of my current book that will be out in February. I believe that our lives should be constantly re-fueled daily to produce successful results. I have learned through my own journey with 13 years of depression that you will not be successful without taking time to reflect, plan, and implement... however those three actions do not happen without fuel. My new book discusses the 8 areas of fuel that we should be mindful of daily in order to create success. I am happy to point out that this is what has worked for me and I hope that this book will inspire you to create your own list of fuel for your success in life.
My biggest lesson about celebrating is to remember to support others. Many of us are afraid to plan events because we tell ourselves...What if no one shows up? The way to eliminate that question is to be mindful of showing up for others. Support them on their journey and you will blessed to have them do the same for you. I was honored to support a club member Jaison Thomas on his journey with public speaking by agreeing to be a guest in his room on Clubhouse.
Jaison did a fantastic job of making me very comfortable with the interview and the interview had a great flow. I appreciate him allowing me to speak on his platform and believe he helped me just as much as I helped him. We met on the Clubhouse App and this opportunity was possible because he came to support my room and I supported his room and he asked me for an interview. I would like to celebrate him for taking action and not getting caught up in overthinking or planning. He decided to take action and jumped. I believe we all need to do more jumping. We miss out on uncovering more of our strengths when we let fear stop us from taking chances. I have decided after 13 years of depression and 3 hospitalizations that I will not let fear hold me back anymore. You only have ONE life to live so make it count and do what you love and that energy will be contagious for others who desire the same.
Today I challenge you to begin to find ways to celebrate YOU everyday! It may look like an actual pat on the back, a smile in the mirror, a shout while running around the house (with your kids laughing at you and wondering what is happening) or simply a 15 minute walk outside to relish in the accomplishment. Take time to think about what went right. Capture those moments and find ways to incorporate that process in your daily routine. We often lose our momentum because we don't take time to acknowledge what was right. I have learned that what I focus on grows. I am conscious about choosing to focus on what is good and working on systems to recreate those outcomes everyday.
Today I ask that you challenge yourself to make time to help others and to reflect on what is going right in your life/business. Remember that if I can do all that I do with 15 children, you can too! I would love to sit down with you and share how do I do it all? The key is knowing WHO I am and collaborating with others. All this I share in my book sessions and invite you to join me.
Let's challenge ourselves to focus on what's going right and eliminating what is not. Have a phenomenal week ahead. I would love to hear from you...if you have any topics that you would like to discuss please email me at [email protected] and put NEWS in the subject line. Blessings LaChelle #americassupermom
