The workers laid off for the first time?

Shamari Coleman never considered herself a person who’d get laid off.

But in December 2022, five months after taking a product-marketing position, the 28-year-old found herself without a job. She woke up to an email from the CEO, announcing they’d decided to lay off 5% of their workforce. “A few hours later, I was invited to a meeting with someone from HR and a department manager, and that was that.”?

Like Coleman, many people affected by the?layoffs that have swept the globe in the past 12 months?have never faced redundancy before. Lots of these workers have been ambitious high achievers at top firms, who are now confronted by the brutal reality that hard work and talent isn’t always enough. Yet it’s not all bad news.

The book, “Who Moved My Cheese,” would be helpful for everyone in this new world we live in! People need to just realize that the cheese has moved and we all need to go out into that big scary world and find more cheese for our new normal to be acceptable, hopefully even better! We need to be supportive to each other and hold back all of our frustrations in the process! This new world is scary, so let’s ban together, help, not hurt and create our new life’s to flourish in, not just one mouse lol, read the book it’s prodigious!!
