REMdevice: Introducing PROFINET and PROFIBUS modules
REMdevice - Industrial Radio Controls
?????????? ?????????????? ??????????????????
In this month's newsletter, we delve into the PROFINET and PROFIBUS protocols that are used to interface radio controls with industrial control equipment ("PLC").
PROFINET is an Ethernet communication protocol designed to collect and manage data within industrial systems. It is a full-duplex system and finds application in various sectors such as automotive, oil & gas, logistics and automation.
PROFIBUS, on the other hand, is a serial communication standard typically used for devices in product and process automation systems. The type of communication is half-duplex: it communicates one device at a time.
The design of systems that require this type of protocol is compatible with all REMdevice products with the MOVE platform: push-buttons, small and large manipulators and multi-receiver systems.
In order that a REMdevice radio control unit can realize this communication (only as a Slave), it is sufficient to connect an additional module from the MOVE series in DIN format, i.e. for installation inside the switch cabinet (see figure).
This module is equipped with various LEDs for the communication monitoring on the radio control and external BUS side.
Specifically:
Although both communication protocols are widely used, we are seeing an increasing use of PROFINET systems, especially in the logistics sector.
