Remarkable Copenhagen

Spending New Year in Copenhagen with friends was fantastic. From walking around a beautiful city with things as diverse as Nyhavn and coloured houses; Christiania Commune the self-proclaimed micronation; Tivoli Gardens or just dodging fireworks that were being left off by all in the streets and squares on New Year's Eve, it was all quite remarkable.??
Remarkability is a concept I first read about in the book Purple Cow by Seth Godin. We use it at Purple Frog (our name was first) as one of our key pillars when helping clients differentiate their offer. Differentiation is hard because too many try to be clever with it, whereas it just needs to be something simple that adds real value, is remembered and shared with others (remarked upon).
Which brings me to the Andersen Boutique Hotel, which was a marvellous as well as remarkable experience because of the little things that meant we as guests felt truly valued. These ranged from free tea and coffee in the lounge and bar, jars of complementary sweets and cakes in stairwells and other surprise places, through to the free wine hour. Yes, a glass of free wine between 5pm and 6pm to get your evening started. Plus, to cap it all the bar was an honesty bar, where you served yourself and then wrote down what you had on a sheet of paper and if you were unsure or poured something wrong, then no problem it was sorted out for you by the happiest meet, greet and customer care team ever.

How refreshing, to be trusted and not just seen as an opportunity to make money from. Just being seen as a valued guest and being treated as such.
I have written an article about customer experience before and how creating a great experience in the ends generates growth, awareness and better profits. To have visited such a remarkable city and for the hotel to be the most remarked upon part of the experience says to me that the Andersen has pretty much nailed it.?
Make sure you visit, stay and enjoy the experience of Copenhagen and make it really special by staying at the Andersen Boutique Hotel.
