Relocation and Sustainability - How?

Relocation and Sustainability - How?

There is a lot of talk about reducing our carbon footprint when we travel, but what about when we move houses? How has the moving industry seen a green revolution in an age where "sustainability" is more than just a buzzword?

A recent survey by The Recycling Partnership and SWNS found that, more than half of the participants in the survey, make an active effort to recycle in some way. But when it comes to relocating, especially to a foreign nation, it's likely that all these excellent practices are abandoned. Even in the best of circumstances, moving is stressful, and the logistical challenges of doing so only add to the stress of packing up your worldly possessions and setting up a new home.

Environmental responsibility is pretty low on the priority list for many logistics and moving organizations. Even when movers have the best of intentions, the amount of goods that wind up on the trash heap, plastic packaging, cardboard boxes, air miles, and fuel emissions might seem inevitable. At Interem , adopting sustainability as a corporate philosophy entails incorporating practical decisions and cutting-edge environmental protection technologies into our business plan. Using the resources, we have wisely and effectively, including stakeholders and employees in the decision-making process, and making business operations sustainable requires constant effort.?

How are we being mindful?

The management team at Interem believes they are empowering themselves to improve not just their company procedures but to raise the standard for international moving firms in general by breaking away from "conventional" removal and delivery companies to provide something new. Country Manager Vishal Agarwal notes, “Gone are the days when sustainability was on the backburner during business reviews." More and more of our clients are expecting us to set benchmarks with our initiatives”

One of the best methods for both individuals and businesses to minimise waste and carbon impact is through packaging, which is also going through a tremendous transformation. For its part, Interem has begun utilising a new product to create eco-friendly packaging from raw materials that have been recycled.

Inspections of homes before the move-in date requires, at times, needless travel. Because of this, the Interem has recently decided to include QuickMove, a type of artificial intelligence technology, into its systems, enabling such inspections to be conducted remotely. As a consequence, fewer in-person meetings save time for staff members, simplify their job, take up less time, and lower the carbon footprint of the business.

We make sure that the products we choose for your new house are easy to recycle at the end of their useful lives in addition to being created from naturally occurring materials that have been ethically obtained. We specifically source materials made from recycled raw materials, such as cotton, ecologically friendly paper, and biodegradable materials, as well as parts from tightly regulated supply chains.

Vishal advises that “being compliant with ESG regulations will simply not cut it." We as organisation are committed to make sure that, sustainability is part of our ethos and we do everything in our respective capabilities to make sure we leave the generations ahead a better tomorrow”.

Interem is emphatic that major firms must do more than just make general commitments to environmental initiatives if they want to see actual change realized. Don't be hesitant to compare moving companies, ask questions, and do research to be sure the one you choose is making every effort to minimize hazardous emissions throughout the move.

The day isn't far, when sustainable way of business, would be the only way ahead. It's imperative that improvisation on every front to conserve and optimize resources happens, and that it happens now.
