Religion as a factor in Saudi foreign and economic policy in Sub-Saharan Africa
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) contemporary foreign and defence policy is, at present, perceived through the prism of the ongoing commitment to the war in Yemen and attempts to defeat Houthi separatists. As crucial as this is to Saudi state security and regional power status, to consider this as the only avenue of the Kingdom’s foreign affairs obscures its wider engagements and diplomatic narratives pursued outside of the Middle East.
