UK stores have escaped unharmed as Vodafone announced it will close more than 1,000 stores across its international markets. The telecoms company will reduce its 7,700 stores by 15% within two years in a bid to move more customers online and to integrate its new German business. The plans will not reduce the number of stores in the UK, where the group recently said it would open 24 new stores this year and 50 next year, creating 100 jobs in a £5.5m investment. ? UK productivity fell at its fastest pace in five years between April and June, according to the ONS. Measured in output per hour, the figure fell by 0.5% compared with Q2 last year and it followed two quarters of zero growth. ONS data shows the UK has been held back by low productivity since the financial crisis, and it suggests this has been exacerbated since the Brexit vote in 2016, the Guardian reports. More than a quarter of women have never requested a pay rise, according to a survey. A poll of 2,000 people for Good Money Week ?— a campaign to raise awareness of ethical and sustainable finance ?— found that 27% of women have never broached the subject of a pay rise with their boss, compared with 18% of men, amid concerns about seeming awkward or difficult. Some 7% of people say they don't get on with their boss, according to research by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Suggesting that schools teach girls how to ask for a pay rise? How ridiculous lol. I doubt schools teach boys that either.
