Reliance Jio # 1 on Fortune's 2018 Change the World List

Congratulations to Mukesh Ambani, Mathew Oommen and their team for Reliance Jio being named 1st place on Fortune's Change the World 2018 list.

The United Nations declared access to the Internet is a basic human right. Reliance Jio certainly deserves more credit than most for giving access to 215 million subscribers in just 22 months.

In 2014 Reliance Jio hired Deutsche Telekom as a consultant for its yet-to-be-launched telecom services in India. Members of my department at the time, Deutsche Telekom Product & Innovation, and other teams advised Reliance Jio. Deutsche Telekom experts ranging from LTE to network security to cloud services visited the Reliance Jio in Mumbai and worked there in preparation for this project.

Deutsche Telekom advised Reliance Jio on how to launch the services flawlessly. Although it was hard to imagine at the time that this unprecedented level of success would be achieved.
