Reliability Team: a best-in-class role
If you had a Reliability Team, what would they do?
- Output the Failure Analytic (Asset Offender) to identify worst offenders and drill-down on failure modes.
- Study those asset records which have (Avg Annual Maint Cost / Replacement Cost) > 6%
- Ask about status of the Defect Elimination teams and last month’s success.
- Initiate RCA where warranted. Make assignments – and track status.
- Review emergency/urgent breakdowns from last week – or problematic systems.
- Ask planners to discuss significant feedback from trades on work performed that week;
- Evaluate assets where the asset condition is trending downwards - as captured during PM activities
- Review engineering recommendations to change maintenance tactics
- In regards to the weekly schedule and compliance therein, discuss “reason no-start”.
- Review time-in-status report – look for outliers
- Review/trend backlog growth
- Discuss new CBM work orders created by the PdM Tech
- Discuss notes from Kaizen forums, or quality circles involving operators; share observations/insights
- Track progress against the Long Range Plan.
- Continue to encourage all forms of benchmarking as well as CRL accreditation

7 年Doesn't it depend a lot on the industry you work in? For a Product Reliability Engineer, this looks creaky.
