Reliability, involvement and flexibility.

Few things are more important for the succes of business relationship than reliability, involvement and flexibility. Different industries have different approaches to growing their business, but the affiliate and performance marketing industry have to be the most short sighted industry around. But it didn't used to be!

So what changed ?

It used to be an industry where long lasting relationships would be a common goal, but lately I see more and more publishers and networks lashing out at advertisers for not paying bills, paying late or refusing to pay the full amounts. The advertisers on the other hand complaint about fraudulent traffic, lack of traffic control and marketing methods on the wrong side of the legal and moral linie.

For many, the performance marketing industry have turned in to a two question industry:

• How much can we earn ?
• How fast can we earn it ?

For me, the industry is still about the long lasting relationship, nothing is more comforting than having the same partners delivering your traffic. When you take on a new businesspartner, so many questions are unanswered. Quality, volume, reliability and source.

Being the link between advertisers and publishers, makes me capable of seeing the issues from both sides, and there is a lot of unresolved issues. But more importantly, it gives me the chance to correct the way we do our business, both from an advertiser point of view and from a publisher point of view. 

Reliability

Being able to rely on getting paid and getting what you are paying for, is the most basic foundation of what we do. Everybody is focused on this one single point, and it is by all means very important. 

Frustrations grow when advertisers dont pay publishers and when publishers repeatedly run low-quality traffic and expect full payment. This is where the long lasting relationship comes in to play, for every new business relationship there are risk. Risks of monetary loss, missed opportunities and hurtful impacts on your business.

We strive to be a reliable network, with long lasting relationships on both side of the aisle. I like to see us as a family, as we are not big like the major networks, but we know each other and we get involved with each other - both publishers and advertisers.

Involvement

Linking advertisers with publishers is a matter of creating synergy between advertiser and publisher, we as a network, have to take the time and energy to involve ourself in both parties to make sure we get the right match. 

Publishers need to understand the need of the advertiser in the same way as the advertiser need to understand and appreciate the experience the publishers bring to the table. The strongest results are made when people work together. I know that it is a textbook cliche and straight out of a motivational seminar, but it just makes so much sense in a time where it seems publishers and advertisers are battling each other and the networks. Work together not against each other!

Flexibility

Flexibility or adaptability comes in many forms and are important in all stages of a business relationship. The biggest issue at the moment, when it comes to flexibility is a financial issue.

Cashflow is king in any business, and for performance and affiliate marketing it is even more true.

We understand the need for the publishers to keep cash flowing to maintain traffic and our advertisers are all on board with this. Due to our hard demand for advertisers to be flexible when it comes to payment, we are able to provide payment terms as flexible as a pair of yoga pants and we truly believe that flexibility is one of the greatest strength any network can have.
