What We’re Reading, Watching and Listening to

Women’s history month edition! We asked our team to share their latest, or greatest, favorite pieces of creativity-sparking, life-affirming, ass-kicking work by awesome women.?

?? Robin has always favored Jersey / NYC gal Cindy Sherman as a visual artist who impersonates a myriad of stereotypical female characters. There’s a review of Cindy's current portrait work exhibit at Hauser & Wirth here. “Cindy is a true badass. As an up and coming art major in the city, 1981’s ‘The Centerfolds’ MoMA exhibit sucked me in.”

?? Liz recommends How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy by Jenny Odell. “For a book about how technology and capitalism has commodified our attention spans, it's a surprisingly beautiful book about human connection.”

?? Cerrone was fortunate to work previously with one of the leading marketers in the country, Bozoma Saint John and recommends her TED talk, “The creative power of your intuition.”

?? Mariam has been listening to the new EP, talking to the wind, by Umi. “She balances both bravado and vulnerability in four succinct love songs. Warm glowy vibes to welcome spring!”

?? Raphael was inspired by this beautiful presentation at SXSW by Radha Agrawal, co-founder of Thinx, Daybreaker and author of the book Belong. “She just launched a new nonprofit called the Belong Center and it's deeply aligned with our work on bridging, belonging and relationship.”
