1 年the biggest issue for compliance a company faces, especially in the face of litigation and greenwashing is the CLAIM they are making. If they say “we are net zero” then that is debatable and could be sued if they are not checking the auditing process of the auditors regularly but if they say we contributed X amount to projects that state they did so many tonnes of carbon drawdown and/or so many tonnes of estimated carbon loss prevention to the best of our ability to ascertain, then they are out of the greenwashing loop. Frankly there is still so much conjecture about the algorithmic calculations in atmospheric science of carbon dioxide and methane around what is actually effective that I’m still groaning! It’s pretty simple really, photosynthesis cools the planet and let’s life cycles survive. But hey… way too simple for scientists.
