Release Update - April 2024

April with Trint was full of events, integrations and great improvements for our web and mobile applications. From performance improvements to new features, we’re committed to updating Trint for a better user experience.

Trint has now partnered with leading news production management system AP ENPS. Providing a seamless integration that allows newsrooms to streamline their workflows by transcribing audio and video, view transcripts and search for key quotes – all within the AP ENPS platform. Trint is dedicated to making our platform easily accessible for all users. To achieve this, we are implementing changes to our keyboard shortcuts to improve accessibility across the board and align with universal standards.

Beginning 7 May, these changes will be live across the Trint web app:

  • Play/Pause with be changed from [Tab] to [Ctrl]+[Space]
  • Rewind 5 seconds with be changed from [`] to [Ctrl]+[R]

The Tab key is a widely-used shortcut to help users navigate websites and apps without a mouse, particularly those with disabilities. However, using the Tab key for Play/Pause in the Editor made it difficult for these users to navigate, so we have decided to switch to double shortcuts. This change will allow us to meet accessibility standards and be more inclusive towards all users.

As we continue to align the features between Trint’s web and mobile app, users can now make use of the highlight and strikethrough tools when reviewing transcripts on mobile. Just tap the “edit” pencil icon and make use of the new toolbar along the bottom of your mobile screen.
