Yes, Llama 3.2 (as with its predecessor, Llama 2) is open-source but comes with specific licensing terms. Llama models are released under a custom license from Meta, and while they are available for free use, there are some restrictions, especially around commercial use. For Llama 2, Meta offered a more permissive license for research and non-commercial purposes, but for commercial use, especially by companies with over 700 million monthly active users (MAUs), special permission was required.
