(re)Learning for AI

Over the last 12 months advancements in AI have led me personally to re-learn. Initially the focus was on using AI tools (ChatGPT, then Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) to understand how to apply them to my work, the organization and our clients. There are many tools and using a large variety was important to understand the potential. This resulted in some great customer facing ideas and execution like Klick Site AiQ and also has fundamentally changed the workflow I use for most day to day work initaitives.

Starting in the summer of last year I really had the itch to understand the underlying fundamentals of AI. The starting point for this was a great YouTube series by Andrej Karpathy titled "Neural Networks: Zero to Hero"

If you're a little familiar with Python these videos are a great way to under the fundamentals of neural networks. I found them eye opening and hope you do to. Going through these I did end up having to brush up on Matrix multiplication, and calculus. None of these require a great deal of depth to be able to do something, just good for the brain.

Before going through these more fundamental concepts, I had an executive level understand and that of an end user of tools. This series was the beginning of understanding more of the underlying details in order to better understand what is to come and pro's and con's has sped up decision making. Hope you find this series as useful as I have. I'll continue to share more of the re-learning approaches and resources I've found valuable and look forward to hearing from you as well.
