When something bad happens in life, it is human nature to resist.?
But what would happen if we could dial down resistance to what life brings us??
What would it be like to relax into the experience?
Wouldn't that change a lot of things??
Instead of fighting "what is", imagine if you accepted "what is"?
I'm not saying this is an easy thing to do.?
My recent experience with an injury has reminded me that I fight "bad" things just as much as the next person.?
But if we can bring consciousness to our reactions to any given experience and a commitment to being intentional, life can be so much better.?
Surprisingly, this is a perspective that can bring happiness and peace.?
Because it is in the resistance of "what is" that we find the most unhappiness and stress.?
Doing this takes a commitment to living a peaceful and happy life.?
It takes being mindful and practicing compassionate observation of yourself.?
It requires feeling pain, sadness, anger, and fear.?
Not easy.?
But worth the effort.?
Because as we relax into these sensations, they tend to lose their powerful grip on us.?
