Relationship is the goal!

In my opinion the most rewarding part of the job is building relationships. It can be with our potential customer, vendors, or colleagues. Sales people are always meeting new people, during a walk by the Lobby, a phone call and/or networking event.

If you (reader) have been following my steps lately you know that my passion for the Diplomatic Community in Washington DC is strong and it gets stronger as time passes because clients want someone to understand their needs and not just "an order taker".

From my very first Sales position in Baltimore, I've worked a lot developing relationships with clients which today I'm able to reconnect with them because people will recommend you to their peers, if you had developed a trustworthy business partnership with them. Build, develop maintain relationships is always the goal.

I always enjoy meeting the National Sales team from the Hotel brand that I represent (invite them to grab coffee) because they can help you when they have requests in your area and you "pop up" in their mind...again Relationships! Every relationship matters! Show genuine interest in helping and assisting people and you will find yourself in good shape.
