Relationships 2.0: New Ways to Make Your Clients say 'Wow'!
In a sea of sameness, how do you and your offerings stand out? Become an expert at delivering memorable experiences. Here are some great tips by @Crystal Washington on ways you can go beyond the ordinary and the expected to delight and wow your clients. She threw in a few tech tips as well in her presentation at @Asia Professional Speakers Singapore (APSS)
- Give clients a proposal that makes them say "wow". Personalize with thoughtful messages and brand themed surprises. Questions to consider: What are your brand values? How can you demonstrate these throughout the client relationship and process?
- Deliver a memorable and customized experience throughout the process from start to finish. Did you know there are 662 different types of Nike shoes? Given the brand loyalty and success of Nike, I can only imagine that each one has been developed for and is customized to a particular user's need or preference.
"Let your powerful message touch your clients from the very first interaction to well after the working relationship" - Crystal Washington
- Deliver food to their conference or bundled together with your proposal (People Love food y'all!). She invited us to consider the memory of a grandparent or loved one serving us food, and the good feelings this invokes. She also shared a story of creating a "bacon basket" for a client with this particular taste, which included such things as bacon candles. Did you know there is such a thing? What is a particular preference that your client has? How can you creatively consider and prepare solutions around this?
- Create a gift or experience that says "Its all about them". Your thoughtfulness demonstrates your ability to understand (and love) them, connect with, and fulfill their needs and objectives.
The more creative the gift the more memorable the experience.
- Listen in on what's happening in your client's world and create something memorable for them. This is the key to building long term relationships. Social platforms like Facebook offer a behind the corporate status look into their personal lives. Did they recently become a grandmother of twin girls? Send them matching colored bows with a personal note. In way ways can you harness the power of intentional listening to surprise and delight your client?
In summary, thank you, Crystal, for a compelling and valuable presentation. You mentioned you are vegetarian. Where can I send you a basket of tasty organic Asian veggies as a token of appreciation?
As always, visuals make your messages rise above and beyond the aforementioned "sea of sameness". Visuals make it memorable, meaningful, magical.
