REJOICE TODAY IN THE LORD!
We have often said the born again child of God can enjoy the best life of all. 1 Thessalonians 5:16 says, “Rejoice always…always be joyful…rejoice at all times.” Rejoice comes from the Greek word "chairo" and it has the idea of REAL (not fake) intense joy. "Joy unspeakable and full of glory" expresses our "Victory in Jesus, my Savior forever."
Dr. Wiersbe wrote, “Every church has its Doubting Thomas or its Gloomy Gus. To see them and listen to them is like witnessing an autopsy or diving into a lake on a winter’s day.” God spare us the un-joy of being around them!
Evangelist Glenn Mathews wrote, “I would like to see a book written where emotions are expressed in color. Peaceful things could be a nice shade of blue. Angry things could be black. Cowardly things could be yellow. I’d like to see a book written three-dimensionally. If you’re just doing simple declarative sentences, it would only be so high. But if you’re asking a question, the words would tilt up. And if you were yelling, the letters would be a couple of inches tall. That would be a tough book to carry but you would get more out of it. But as it is, when you look at words, they are just black on white. They are flat. What the Word of God, though, is saying in this text is, “REJOICE! REJOICE!” The words are yelling! So let’s rejoice today. You have a reason to do exactly that!
