Rejection...

Have you seen the statement that companies post saying “only successful candidates will get a response”?
Why is that? Why do only the “successful” candidates get a response? What about the candidates who aren’t successful and are left waiting for a reply and don’t get one?! Why do they not deserve a reply? Everyone in the world at some point will be subjected to rejection in many areas of their lives i.e. relationships, college/university applications, work etc. It is something we all must endure whether we like it or not. It can be difficult receiving rejections and none more so then when you apply for jobs. We know as a business, it takes time to go through the hundreds of CV’s we receive for each job that is advertised, but it takes very little time to send a standard rejection email or letter. Too many people are applying for jobs and are not getting a response. This is not only unfair to the candidates, but it is also poor practice from the company or agency to which they applied. Poor communication shows a form of negativity and unprofessionalism. Think of it like this, you wouldn’t ignore a client, so why do you feel it is ok to ignore a candidate?
As a recruitment agency, we can receive hundreds of CV’s for one position. This week alone for one role, we received over 900 CV’s and whilst it may not be today or tomorrow, every candidate who has taken the time to apply WILL get a response. Whether it’s an invite to interview or a polite regret, we take the time to reply. Most in truth will be a standardised regret email, but others may be more personalised, as it all depends on the type of application. We feel it is very important to treat our candidates with respect, as after all, everyone is a human being.

5 年I agree! We are, for some agencies, just numbers ... The worst is when they present job offers and then never get back to you on it!
