Reintroducing Helixco: The Journey, The Reinvention, and The Future
Helixco started with a simple but ambitious goal: to bring enterprise emergency response contractors together under one hub during catastrophic events. We wanted to streamline coordination between corporate entities and their networks to help them better serve their national commercial clients and local businesses in times of disaster.
But like any new venture, the early years came with challenges.
The Early Days: From Phoenix to Helixco
When we first launched as Phoenix, we were exclusive to one organization, mandated for use, and met with understandable resistance. Contractors were being asked to adopt another system—one they only used a couple of times a year. It was difficult to onboard users, and without daily interaction, adoption was a struggle.
We learned. We adapted. We evolved.
The rebrand to Helixco wasn’t just about a new name—it was about a new vision. We didn’t want to be just another piece of software in the contractor’s stack. We wanted to be part of their DNA. A tool belt they could rely on—not just for software, but for services, growth, and operational support.
The Exclusive Years: A Blessing and a Challenge
Being exclusive for years had its advantages. We had some of the best beta testers in the world. We learned how to scale a platform with thousands of jobs and hundreds of contractors. We saw firsthand what worked and what didn’t.
But exclusivity came at a cost.
We missed out on years of networking, trade shows, and relationship-building. When it ended, we had to start from scratch in many ways. Investors turned us away because we only had one client. Contractors didn’t know who we were. And as a startup, we faced the harsh reality that survival meant reinvention.
So, we went back to the drawing board.
Reinvention: A New Model for Growth
After reading Blue Ocean Strategy (which I highly recommend), I knew we had to be different from other SaaS companies to stand out. So, we built a purpose-driven solution specifically for commercial large loss claims, leaning into our cloud-based Time & Material Billing module, designed around smart contracts and blockchain methodology.
But software alone wasn’t enough. We needed new revenue streams to sustain our vision.
We pivoted. We launched a services division to help contractors land national accounts and manage projects within Helix. We partnered with major franchise networks like Rainbow Restoration to help scale their commercial Rapid Response division.
Not everything worked though. We lost money chasing industries outside of restoration. But we refocused. We doubled down on what we knew best—contractor support, third-party admin programs, and restoration software.
The Challenges of Scaling & The Power of Leadership
Scaling back was painful. We had to reset the chessboard—take ten steps back before we could sprint forward. We lost momentum, good people and I personally struggled with that and still do.

But today, we’re growing again.
We’re rehiring strategically, working with Accentuin to source top-tier talent, and implementing a rigorous Top Grading hiring process to ensure we bring on nothing but A+ Players.
Why Contractors Should Pay Attention
We get it—adopting new software isn’t easy. But Helixco is different.
Built for commercial large loss claims—because no one else in the space is focusing solely on this.
Scalable for networks of all sizes—from enterprise franchises to local contractor peer groups.
A true all-in-one solution—manage compliance, internal communication, and job execution in one place.
Transparent T&M billing—cut audit times, increase margins, and provide visibility for all stakeholders.
New features coming very soon—Allocations, AI-driven bill reviews, offline capabilities for CAT situations, and much more. This is just the beginning.
The Relaunch: Be Part of This Journey
We’re back. And we’re stronger than ever.
We’re rolling out new pricing models, attending major trade shows, and partnering with more networks every day. On top of that we’re in talks with companies to use Helixco as their managed repair platform.
We’re on a mission to bring innovation to commercial restoration.
Let’s talk. Book a demo. Meet us at a trade show. See what we’re building. Because this is only the beginning. And I promise you—we’re going to be different.
We’re going to elevate this industry.
