Reinforced Core Value

“How long are you going to be here today?” a hurried visitor to the Christmas market asked me at our charitable. The reason for the question was revealed by a hungry glance at the sausages and the beer bottles. The answer of my comrade-in-arms Andreas in the booth: “Until you are no longer thirsty.”

I liked that. Quick-witted and full of wisdom. That is what I like to hear as a guest! Someone is here for me and not just for a short while. No, until my needs are really satisfied. If you export this thought into the circles of the business world, many examples come to mind where this is important. I want the construction company to be there for me until the last roof tile of my house is fixed. That the dentist works until the seal sits really well in my jaw and that the bakery will hopefully still be open next week when I come to get my favorite roll.

Safety instead of sensation

The last decades have seen repeated setbacks in the financial markets. 2022, 2020, 2018, ... or the years 2008/2009 and 2001/2002. Especially in these nerve-wracking times, it is particularly important to have someone there to answer your questions. “Until your assets are back at new highs” is then our promise. Quite in contrast to the self-proclaimed prophets, warning voices or seducers who appear in the various market phases... and disappear without a sound after a while. “But I still need assistance!”, the seduced person may shout. In vain, because the proclaimed gurus are already gone and forgotten.

That will not happen to you with us as a client. Max and Rudolf Gutmann founded their own Bankhaus Gebrueder Gutmann, in 1922. It still exists today but has evolved into Bank Gutmann. Many things have changed. But the fact that we are there for our clients remains. As a core value that has been reinforced over decades.

Private banking has a lot to do with listening and understanding. Even more so in regard to responsibility. Gutmann's values are passed on from generation to generation. This responsibility of the bank is carried by its employees and its owners, with the focus to be close to our clients.
