Jim Highsmith , Jon Kern , Heidi Musser and others who so faithfully supported our wonderful Reimagining Agile launch team—thank you for continuing to push the boundaries of agility while honoring its foundational values and principles. We are ever reminded that agility is not a fixed destination but a continuous evolution, adapting to new challenges, industries, and technologies.
As life moves inexorably on, I see a crucial opportunity to extend agility beyond team-level practices and even beyond enterprise agility—to rethink how we govern for value in a rapidly changing world.
The Agile movement has come a long way, and if we truly want to enable business agility at scale, we must shift from project- and cost-based decision-making to adaptive governance—where strategy, funding, and execution align dynamically to deliver measurable value. We must ensure that agility is not just about speed or efficiency but about delivering the right value, at the right time, with the right investment.
Another critical frontier is Agility in the Age of AI. Many organizations are still struggling with Agile transformation, and now AI is accelerating the pace of change exponentially. If we fail to integrate agility with AI-driven decision-making and execution, we risk losing relevance. AI should not be seen as a separate initiative but as a natural extension of agility itself.
To Jim Highsmith 'schallenge questions, I offer this: I hope that in the coming year, we deepen our understanding of Agile beyond IT, embrace adaptive governance as a key enabler of business agility, and prepare for a future where agility and AI are inseparable.

At the heart of this evolution is an even greater responsibility—to pass the torch to the next generation of agilists, leaders, and change-makers. Agility is not just a set of practices; it is a mindset and a movement that must continue to grow beyond us. As we reflect on our own journeys, we must also create space for new voices, diverse perspectives, and emerging leaders who will shape the future of agility in ways we cannot yet imagine.
The Reimagining Agile movement is a much-needed catalyst for this next evolution. The ball is rolling, and as we move forward, let’s ensure that agility doesn’t just scale—it endures.
In gratitude to the global Agile community.

3 周The future lies in the oldest of pursuits-business or enterprise agility, the concept/conceptual model within enterprise and business architecture layers that makes them sense feel, learn, see, adapt to constant change and that has nothing to do with shitty old Scrum or scaling, it’s about ord design, dna of culture, mk3 and adaptive leadership at all levels, mindset and unblocking hr, procurement and accounting to be lean, agile and value driven…. Take out the word software, stop thinking business is just within tech context from the old manifesto and think more about innovation, continuous improvement and vale delivery and we will be fine. Scrum needs to be buried as it’s cult followers and its misunderstanding of being fit to run/explot and grow/explore a business are not what it was intended or designed for, it’s not an operating model, not even when it’s scaled is it anywhere complete enough as it would look more like SAFe. Get ride of the Scrum zombies, 2 day training SCM cowboys and we will flourish speaking the language of the business not scrum, Long Live Agility hu rah!! #enterpriseagility # businessagility

1 个月Agile + AI: Accelerating Value or Just Accelerating Chaos? ???? Sanjiv, the vision of Agile as an evolving movement is crucial. But as we discuss Agility in the Age of AI, we need a reality check: if we don’t integrate AI deliberately, we might just be accelerating the very problems Agile was meant to solve. The real challenge isn’t just “adaptive governance”—it’s ensuring decisions aren’t automated without critical thinking. If AI becomes an optimizer of the wrong metrics, we risk turning Agile into a system that is faster, but not smarter. Agile governance must prioritize deliberative permeability, not just blind adaptation. If we fail to critically examine how AI and Agile interact, we may end up automating the status quo instead of solving real challenges in collaboration, innovation, and sustainable value. The future of Agile depends on more than speed and efficiency—it depends on genuine deliberation. How do we ensure AI doesn’t just reinforce the flawed strategic thinking that has already undermined so many Agile transformations? #Agile #AI #AdaptiveGovernance #Deliberation #RealTransformation
