What a Month! And we are just getting started.?The purpose of this article is to share some helpful resources and outcomes from recent activities this month of service with purpose.
After two and a half years of work, it was a great pleasure to publish a study last week led by Dr. Joan Luby, MD, on Early Emotion Development Intervention Improves Mental Health Outcomes in Low-income, High-Risk Community Children ?with Washington University School of Medicine, Brown School of Social Work, and others last week.?As a board member (and past education?chair) of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis,?I was delighted to include the Urban League Headstart?in this study and work.?Together, we are addressing mental health needs of our children and parents. Yet, more must be done.

On Thursday, Chiefs for Change publicly released its?District Student Wellbeing Services Reflection Tool !?I was pleased to contribute to this work of McKinsey, leading organizations, and federal agencies to create a free mental health reflection tool with robust resources, which was published this week for superintendents and district administrators, teachers, principals, and more (see file attached if you prefer the PDF). Please share this document broadly with educators and others in need.??
Today, January 14, 2022, we concluded the first?STL.works ?and the UMSL St. Louis Anchor Network Virtual Holiday Hiring Series and Job Fair from December 10, 2021, to January 14, 2022.?Scores of Regional Business Council member companies like Edward Jones and BJC and other organizations like Saint Louis University?and Washington University completed interviews of nearly 150 candidates for over 123 professional positions.?Thank you to the over 100 partners and friends who participated in the interviews or shared this information with others. As the leader of the STL.works, an RBC Workforce Initiative, and as a Chancellor's Council Member of UMSL, we appreciate you.?
