Reid Hoffman on the Simple Way to Take Control of AI at Work
If you’re still trying to figure out where AI fits into your life, you’re not alone. So many of us are trying to parse what’s hype, what’s real, and how it might change the way we work.
That’s why I was so excited to sit down with Reid Hoffman for this week’s episode of Hello Monday.
Reid is the co-founder of LinkedIn and the host of Masters of Scale, where he talks with some of the biggest names in business and tech. His latest book, Superagency: What Could Possibly Go Right with Our AI Future, makes a case for why AI doesn’t have to diminish our agency—it can actually expand it.
This conversation is a little different. We recorded it live for thousands of viewers in our Empire State Building studios; Reid answered your questions about AI in real time. Today, you'll hear (and see) an edited version of the conversations highlights. If you’re a LinkedIn Premium member, you can catch the full stream.

2 周AI in construction is not that well taken. When you work in a mining environment, things don’t follow the rule book. Now in a production line where you repeat the same action over and over that works. But if one of the AI machines up the line skips a task and is not caught, then the end product will be flawed and the consumer will not know until they try to use a product. Then the hassle of sending it back for replacement drives the AI innovation out the door and nobody wants a defective part. Still need a human to check the work. Look at Walmart. Got rid of person working a checkout, but have to have people watching the line to check the item that doesn’t scan and have to stop at the door to see receipt. If a customer actually checks out themself and doesn’t stop. This causes lawsuit against the company. Don’t trust self check out. Put people back to work.
