FIS ready for FedNow . Fis became one of the first fintechs to complete testing and certification for FedNow? Service to offer "Credit Transfer - Receive Only" payments, facilitating receipt of payments.

Change Financial granted Principal Issuer Licence by Mastercard . This offering will enable local bank and fintech clients to offer a card program to consumers through the technology of both Mastercard and Change Financial. Read more

PIX poised to disrupt recurring payments in Brazil. Starting in April 2024, Brazilians will be able to pay utility bills, subscriptions, and all types of recurring services through PIX without relying on bilateral agreements between companies and banks or credit cards.

Veriff achieves UK Government Digital Identity and attributes trust framework certification, which will enable Veriff customers to verify the identities of UK-based users more confidently, while complying? with UK government approved rules.

Penny Finance adds automated account integration with PLAID , allowing for improved money insights and more accurate financial reporting for members. Penny’s new feature enables women to link their bank accounts for an even better and seamless member experience.

Checkout.com is taking on identity verification with video-based AI-powered solution. The process uses AI trained on billions of data points labelled by ID fraud experts. This is Checkout.com’s first product outside of its core payments solutions and aims to help businesses in scaling by being “friction-free, compliant and quick”.

PhonePe launches POS device that enables merchants to accept payments via Debit Cards, Credit Cards and UPI, providing them with a simple and seamless settlement experience. The device comes preloaded “with the PhonePe POS App and supports transactions through tap/swipe/dip and interoperable dynamic QR codes.”

Finmo eyes Singapore launch with In-Principle approval for payment license. This will grant Singapore businesses access to Finmo’s comprehensive suite of global payments services, including its current product and service offerings across Asia Pacific.?

Balance launches surcharging programme to ease B2B credit card burdens on merchants. This capability enables suppliers to implement a surcharge fee for credit card transactions , providing flexible payment options to buyers while preserving healthy profit margins.

Bankig as a Service firm BKN301 Group lands in Egypt. The country is highly strategic both thanks to Egypt’s Vision 2030 programme, and to its geographic location that allows the company to reach all of the North African markets. Read more


BLOCKCHAIN

Coinbase shares up 50% since SEC lawsuit. According to data from TradingView, Coinbase shares surged 51%, from around $52 on June 6 to $78.7 on July 7 . The stock is also up around 133% over the past six months, while year-to-year growth is roughly 50%.?


PARTNERSHIPS

Grow Finance partners with Pismo to issue new Mastercard? credit card for small businesses in Australia. The Grow Mastercard? credit card will be available in market from September . This new offer will give business owners better cash flow, management and capital to help them improve their businesses.?

Douugh partners with InvestorHub to build stronger investor relations with a dedicated platform for investors to learn more about Douugh and its latest activities, as it now focuses on growing customers and revenue following the completion of its core platform development. Read more

Mastercard, Virta and Worldpay team on card payments for EV charging stations. The new solution brings seamless card-based payments to existing and new charging stations in Europe, and is now readily available for all charging point owners on the Powered by Virta platform.

UnionPay International inks QR payments MoU with National Bank of Cambodia . With this collaboration, Cambodian residents can make payments with e-wallets from their home country in UnionPay's global QR network which includes China, satisfying mobile payment needs in China or abroad.

BEST Vietnam and VNPAY partner to facilitate cashless payments in Vietnam.? Through this partnership, both companies aim to promote cashless payment solutions in Vietnam . Vietnamese consumers will be able to pay for goods and shipping using VNPAY QR code from BEST express couriers.

Pátria Investment group launches partnership with Bancolombia , the largest Colombian financial group, to create an investment company in Colombia. The new deal looks to expand the size and scope of investment , Pátria managers say.??

Chilean-Swedish fintech Floid partnered with BancoEstado to aid SMEs in accessing credit. As part of the initiative, the 'Financial Reports' tool offers detailed business information , including revenue, key clients, and tax payments.


#DONEDEAL

Equabli, Inc . announces successful completion of funding round that secured $3.35M of additional capital and will be instrumental in propelling Equabli toward its strategic objectives , including talent acquisition, market expansion, and enhancing Equabli's innovative debt recovery products and services.?

Brazilian Bitcoin startup Bipa raises $1.4M in seed round. The funds raised will support Bipa's expansion in the market , attracting new users and developing new business-to-consumer (B2C) products.?

Payface , a Brazilian fintech offering facial recognition payment solutions, has raised an additional R$ 15 million in an extension of its Series A round. The funds will fuel the company's organic growth , expansion into new retail verticals, product development, and possible acquisitions.

Lemonero secures additional seed funding round. The company will focus on its development strategy while prioritising the process of meeting the needs, preferences, and demands of its customers and clients. Read more

Polygon names new CEO, shuffles top executives as SEC expands oversight. Marc Boiron will serve in the newly created role of CEO, leaving his current role as chief legal officer, according to a press release.? Link here

Airwallex appoints Luke Latham as Australia and New Zealand General Manager. Airwallex CEO and Co-founder Jack Zhang said Latham’s deep experience in businesses disrupting traditional industries made him the right choice for Airwallex’s expansion in the region.

Flexport’s Ryan Petersen joins venture firm Founders Fund as a partner. General Partner, Trae Stephens , stated: “We’ve always struggled to define the quintessential Founders Fund founder. Clearly, it’s Ryan. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team.

GoCardless picks former SAP EMEA president, Franck Cohen , as first chair. “Franck is a very welcome addition to our growing roster of experienced leaders and advisors, all of whom will help us move to the next stage of our journey,” said CEO, Hiroki Takeuchi .
