SHURA LAW FIRM provides full registration procedures for Companies & Factories that own Trademarks eligible to export their product to the Arab Republic of Egypt. It is not permissible to release these products for trading purposes unless they are produced in registered Factories or imported from companies that own the trademark or registered distribution centers. The registry or cancellation from this record shall be by the competent Foreign Trade Minister’s decree; also, he may grant an exemption from all or any of the registration requirements in cases determined by the competent minister.

What are the requirements for registering a Factory in Egypt?

Factories & Companies eligible to Export to Egypt are required to fulfill the following conditions to be recorded in the registration

First, regarding Factories:

The registration form is to be applied by the legal representative of the factory, his/her delegate, or his/her agent supported by the authenticated documents hereinafter:

1. ?The Factories’ legal identity and the license issued for it.
2. ?A statement for the Factories’ products and trademarks.
3. ?The trademark of the said product and the trademark produced under the authorization of the owner.
4. A certificate proving that the factory is applying the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or from a governmental entity, Egyptian or Foreign.
5. ?The said entity shall be approved by the competent Minister of Foreign Trade.

Second: Regarding trademark-owning companies:

The registration form is to be applied by the legal representative of the factory, his/her delegate, or his/her agent supported by the authenticated documents hereunder:

1) A certificate approving the trademark and the products produced under it.

2) A certificate proving that the factory is applying the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or from a governmental entity, Egyptian or Foreign, approved by the competent Minister of Foreign Trade.

2-?How long?it takes to register Factories & Companies eligible to export their products to Egypt?

The registration in the aforementioned register shall be complete upon the submission of the required documents. However, the concerned person shall deliver proof of registration?within a period not exceeding 15 days from the day of submitting the required documents.?In the event of doubts about the validity of the submitted document, the registration shall be made only after confirmation of their validity, the applicant may request the Company or the Factory to be inspected to verify the authenticity of the documents under the approval of the Foreign Trade Minister.

?3- What are the required documents to register a Factory in Egypt?

All the below-mentioned documents shall be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce or its replacement and ratified by the Egyptian embassy in the country of origin. Also, the submitted documents shall be accompanied by translated ones by an accredited translation centre.

1. Letter of authorization from the factory’s legal representative to the person authorized, or the Egyptian registration company/entity, and printed on the factory’s paper.
2. The industrial license for the factory.
3. A list of the factory’s products, printed on the factory’s paper.
4. A list of the trademarks, printed on the factory’s paper.
5. The ownership of the trademark (if any).
6. The documents and trademarks are to be completely withdrawn (PDF) in order to electronically save the file.
7. ?An English-translated certificate is to be issued to prove that the factory is applying the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).

Certified ownership of the Trademark:

If the factory has its own trademark. The factory shall present the issued certificate from the ownership registration official entity.

If the factory does not have its own trademark and produces using another factory’s trademark. The factory shall present 1) Authorization from the original trademark owner to the right of suing, exporting, or importing by it. 2) The original trademark certificate (owned by the original owner) and issued by the official entity for ownership registration.

If the factory does not have its own trademark and is willing to register without a trademark, It shall provide a letter providing that the factory does not have a trademark, but produces using another factory’s name, (printed on the factory’s paper).

The Quality Certificate:

A certificate proving that the factory is applying the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or from a governmental entity, issued by the English language.

4) What are the required documents for companies?that own trademarks?

3. A list of the factories that produce under the said company’s trademark, their addresses, and nationalities. Printed on the company’s paper.
4. A list of the distribution centers, allowed to supply the company’s product under its trademark. Printed on the company’s paper.
5. A list of the company’s trademarks, printed on the company’s paper.
6. The documents and trademarks are to be completely withdrawn (PDF) in order to electronically save the file.
7. ?An English-translated certificate is to be issued to prove that the factory is applying the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
8. -The aforementioned documents shall be certified by the chamber of commerce or its counterpart and ratified by the Egyptian embassy in the country of origin. Also, the submitted documents shall be accompanied by translated ones by an accredited translation center.

The Ownership Certificate of the Trademark:

If the company owns a trademark:

The company shall have the ownership certificate issued from the ownership registration official entity.

If the company does not own a trademark and produces using another company’s trademark… The company shall have 1) Authorization from the original trademark owner to the right of suing, exporting, or importing by it. 2) The original trademark certificate (owned by the original company) and issued by the official entity for ownership registration.

The Quality Control System Certificate:

Providing that the factories produced under the company’s trademark shall apply the quality control system issued by a recognized body from the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) or the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or from a governmental entity issued by the English language.

5 What are the specified products required to be produced from registered Factories or imported from trademark-owning companies to be approved for export to Egypt?

1. Milk and diaries ( Except for infant formula/ Milk of children ) prepared for retail not exceeding 2 kg.
2. Preserved and dried fruits prepared for retail not exceeding 2 kg-direct consumption packs.
3. Fats and oil, 2 kg packed, and prepared for retail.
4. Sugar products.
5. Chocolates and other food products contain cocoa, prepared for retail and direct consumption not exceeding 2 kg.
6. Pastries/Nutritional products prepared from grain/cereal, and bakery products ( except for empty tablets/capsules prepared for pharmaceutical purposes)
7. Fruits juice prepared for retail, in less than 2 kg packs.
8. Natural, mineral, and soda/soft water.
9. Cosmetics and make-up products, preparations for oral or dental hygiene, personal deodorants, antiperspirants, and perfumes.
10. Soap and washing preparations used as soap, prepared for retail.
11. Cutlery and kitchen utensils.
12. Tubs, basins, wash basins, toilet seats, and covers or similar items for sanitary usage.
13. Sanitary paper and similar, napkins, towels, and diapers.
14. Floor and wall tiles.
15. Glass items for kitchen and table usage.
16. Reinforcing steel/Rebar.
17. Household appliances (Stoves, fridges, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, radios…etc)
18. Office and home furniture.
19. Bicycles, motorcycles, and vehicles with auxiliary motors.
20. Watches.
21. Lightening equipment for household use.
22. Toys.
23. Textiles, clothing, blankets (except for what is produced for medical use and occupational safety)
24. Mats, wall and floor covers, fabric and non-fabric carpets.
25. Footwear/Shoes.
26. Bags.
