REGGIE HOLMES | ENTREPRENEURIAL LIVE INTERVIEWS WITH CONNIE FUKSA (2021)

Reggie Holmes went to school for graphic design. He has a degree in fine arts and so he knew he wanted to do design. He worked professionally and first real job was at a university. He was doing design work on campus for several different offices and loved it, then one day they decided to get rid of his position due to budget cuts which was totally out of his control but that was his first exposure to life in the real world.

What Reggie thought it did was sort of plant a seed for him that he wanted to be positioned one day to have his own opportunities and to not necessarily be somebody who is the victim of what’s happening in the market or some conditions beyond his control. That set him on the path to entrepreneurship. He did a number of things in between just to pay the bills like right before he started his business, he had a security job which is not creative at all. He just kind of had to stand there on post.

This gave him a lot of time though to think, to prepare and sort of lay the groundwork. If he was going to do his own thing, what would it look like? What types of opportunities what I want? And so he tried to use that time as best he could to really prepare myself for when he was starting these creative which was in late 2013 and he has been at it a little over six years.

Reggie was thinking of a name that would be descriptive of him as a person but also speak to a little bit more of not just what they did but how they did it. Enthuse means to fill with joy or happiness and so when he thought about that, it’s a word that kind of makes him smile and it made him think about how he wants to feel when he’s doing design, when he’s creating on behalf of his clients and then also how he wants them to feel as a result of working with him.

When the whole process is done from beginning to end, he wants them to be enthusiastic about not only what he’s created but just the process of working together so that’s how he got the name.
