And setting intentions is an important part of designing our lives.

Reflecting on?our intentions from last year , based on the five elements - they are all still relevant after everything happening in 2022.

However, we’d like to add some new flavours of attention to our intentions for this year.

Regenerative Innovation

The regenerative paradigm provides an alternative that is explicitly designed to engage with a living world through its emphasis on a co-creative partnership with nature based on strategies of adaptation, resilience and regeneration.

Grown organically out of regenerative agriculture, we will see the regenerative principles applied through all different areas of life and business during this decade, from regenerative food systems, learning models, technology to city design, media and finance.

And now think of the boundless possibilities when creative people start working in a regenerative way using the latest AI tools.

For example?Manas Bhatia ?in his Future Cities series co-created with?Midjourney , is reimagining our cities based on nature-inspired biomimicry and materials, including towering skyscrapers enveloped with algae facades, visualised as futuristic biophilic air-purification towers and green structures offering benefits by reducing carbon emissions and minimising the use of artificial cooling.

And in the combination with technology, we will see an explosion of creativity of what is possible combining these two. At RegenerateX, we believe the biggest innovations in moving towards such a new economy will come from the intersection between the?principles of regeneration,?web3?and?regenerative finance?(#refi ) as we need to build new structures to create real systemic change.

Metamodern Spirituality

The Metamodern mindset arose in response to both?the insufficiencies and the affordances of modernism and postmodernism .

While metamodernism affects all aspect of our internet-age culture, the metamodern spirituality movement has been specifically exploring how issues of ultimate concern - such as how to live a life of meaning and value - might be effectively reframed from this metamodern vantage. In this endeavour, it sees a crucial role for spiritual transcendence at both the individual and collective levels.

Evolution, we now know, is not some senseless meandering, but part of an ever-deepening learning process by which the universe is waking up to itself. And, as highly complex, conscious beings, we have a unique role to play in this cosmic drama.

Decentralised Human Organisations (DHO)

Instead of focusing on technological solutions that are going to save us, DHOs are putting humans back in the centre. The technology is designed as an organism, as a structure that allows human collaboration to behave as the cells of our bodies do. Our bodies have no rigid hierarchy, no top-down control mechanisms but are able to coordinate actives on a massive scale to create an entirely new being or entity. What this new being or entity looks like is up to us.

Let’s just not forget, life is about the pleasure and experiences we generate writing and sharing stories, creating music, visuals and art. So, how can we design, with technology, to explore new states of well-being and create an economy where human and more than human life is the most essential priority?

(Re)Generative AI and Natural Intelligence

Understanding where we come from and thinking about how our great grandchildren are going to use technology, deserves carving out some time. Has anyone thought about this recently?

The?Generative AI explosion ?we currently witness - and this is just the start of its true potential - will create a boom of creative expansion of our imagination and create new new potential in visualisation, especially for images, design, film and video, as well as many different areas.

On the recent hype of Natural Language AI and tools such as?ChatGPT , this may at first shortcut a lot of work currently done by professions managing lots of text - and a lot of job losses obviously. Let’s not forget, however that everything that is fed to the machines is based on books and articles of the past, so it can only repeat history, not reinvent it.

As the global power-race is now about who’s owning the AI, we need to be working on how we can create a logical evolutionary redistribution of wealth generated through AI developments - and how we can work with Technology in Service to Life.

How we are contributing to a healthy society is the real question every responsible leader has to ask himself.
