As I write this, I am filled with excitement and pride to share my first newsletter as the CEO of The View Hospital, Qatar. Joining this outstanding team marks the beginning of a new and inspiring journey, and I am truly honored to be part of an organization dedicated to raising the standards of healthcare excellence.

As the year draws to a close, I want to reflect on our remarkable achievements this month:

• A Medical Milestone: We made history by performing Qatar’s first full-thickness corneal transplants in the private sector. This landmark achievement underscores our leadership in advanced tertiary medical treatments and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of healthcare innovation.
• Recognition for Excellence in Infection Control: We were honored by the Ministry of Public Health for our exceptional infection control practices. This recognition reaffirms our unwavering commitment to patient safety and quality care.
• Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative: In partnership with Qatar Foundation, we hosted a successful Breast Cancer Awareness Month event. This initiative highlighted the critical connection between mental health and early detection, offering meaningful support to those affected.
• Strengthening Partnerships: I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Saipem, furthering our collaboration and reinforcing our shared commitment to safety initiatives—a cornerstone of excellence in healthcare and beyond.
• Empowering Our Team: Our recent training sessions showcased our dedication to continuous learning, equipping our team with the skills to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

These accomplishments are a testament to the passion, talent, and dedication of every member of our team. Together, we are driving The View Hospital’s mission forward, guided by our commitment to excellence in all that we do.

Our highly qualified ophthalmology team recently performed the first full-thickness corneal graft transplant procedures in Qatar's private healthcare sector, a significant development that expands the range of specialised medical treatments we can provide to our patients.

This result is a testament to our medical team's clinical acumen, accuracy, and perseverance in carrying out these challenging treatments. Penetrating keratoplasty, as performed here, is a highly complex operation involving the complete replacement of corneal tissue—a procedure that necessitates unparalleled surgical skill, advanced aseptic protocols, and post-operative management strategies to ensure optimal graft integration and visual rehabilitation for our patients.

Witnessing patients regain visual acuity, depth perception, and quality of life emphasises the necessity of increasing high-quality ophthalmic services in private healthcare. This achievement establishes The View Hospital as a pioneer not just in ophthalmology but also in offering sophisticated, patient-centred therapies that have life-changing outcomes.

We believe that mental health is crucial, especially during challenging times. By joining forces, we can raise awareness and extend our support to those affected by breast cancer. Together, we make a difference.

TVH participated to the Diabetes Care Symposium, where the latest advancements in diabetes management, treatment options, and preventive care strategies were shared The event took place with healthcare professionals, students, and researchers to promote knowledge exchange and awareness in the field. State of Audit Bureau Qatar - Diabetes Awareness Campaign

TVH partnered with the State Audit Bureau - Qatar to launch a comprehensive Diabetes Awareness Campaign, aimed at educating employees on the importance of early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and effective management of diabetes through workshops and informative materials.

Qatar Steel Diabetes Awareness Campaign online talk

TVH led an engaging online talk for Qatar Steel Company employees as part of their Diabetes Awareness Campaign, highlighting key strategies for preventing and managing diabetes, providing practical tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and offering valuable insights into the hospital’s advanced care options for those affected by the condition.

Welcoming our esteemed guests to the TVH

As the leading private hospital of the region, The View Hospital receives several guests and partners, which makes us proud to give them the introduction.

Dr. Dr.Musaddique Pokar M. Saipem ’s Country Health Coordinator was one of the guests, we have discussed how we can collaborate for occupational health issues and further employee wellbeing projects.

The View Hospital was honored to host the Deputy Health Minister of Uzbekistan, providing an exclusive tour of our state-of-the-art facilities and highlighting our innovative approach to patient care. This visit served as an opportunity to exchange insights on healthcare advancements, explore potential collaborations, and strengthen ties with Uzbekistan’s health sector, reinforcing our shared commitment to excellence in medical services.

Alayar Kangarlu , Ph.D. and Marta Moreno, Ph.D from NYC were another visitor to TVH to explore collaborations. We were glad to discuss new therapy areas and offerings to our patients.

Dr. Andrew Elkwood and Jonathan Edelheit, JD paid a visit to TVH and we were glad to hear the latest developments on the plastic surgery. It was great to discuss the potential collaboration areas.

My long years friend Hassan El Banna, MD MSHSM and Dr. Federico Girardi were another visitor to our hospital. We were glad to discuss spine surgery operations and tertiary case management in TVH.

I had the privilege of rounding in our pharmacy services at The View Hospital. Pharmacy is one of the fastest-evolving areas in healthcare, continually adopting advanced technology to provide the highest standards of care to our clinicians and patients.

Under the outstanding leadership of Ibrahim A. Tfayli, Pharm.D., CISCP . I met with our dedicated team of pharmacists who are making remarkable strides toward a future with zero medication errors. Witnessing the seamless integration of our boxpicker and unit dose machines with Omnicell smart cabinets across the hospital floors was both inspiring and reassuring. These innovations not only streamline our workflows but also ensure that every patient receives precise, safe, and timely medication.

What resonated most were the success stories and ambitious action plans shared by our pharmacists. Their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement shows the forward-thinking direction The View Hospital is heading.

Empowering Excellence Through Comprehensive Staff Education

At The View Hospital , continuous education is at the heart of our commitment to excellence. Last week, our team participated in a series of vital training sessions, enhancing both their technical and soft skills to elevate our standard of care.

From Hospitality Training that strengthens our focus on compassionate, welcoming patient interactions, to Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) sessions that streamline our administrative efficiency—each program contributes directly to a better patient experience and hospital performance. Additionally, Frontliner Customer Management training equips our team to address patient inquiries and concerns effectively, and Fire Safety training reinforces our commitment to emergency preparedness for the safety of all.

Through ongoing education, we empower our team to stay at the forefront of healthcare best practices, fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and excellence. Proud of our team’s dedication and excited for the positive impact this brings to our patients!
