Regarding Questions and Answers

Check out this courtroom exchange that took place one day during an actual trial.?

  • Attorney: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
  • Witness: No.
  • Attorney: Did you check for blood pressure?
  • Witness: No.
  • Attorney: Did you check for breathing?
  • Witness: No.
  • Attorney: Then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
  • Witness: No.
  • Attorney: How can you be so sure, doctor?
  • Witness: Because his brain was in a jar on my desk.
  • Attorney: I see. But could the patient have still been alive, nonetheless?
  • Witness: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Ouch! This exchange is humorous, but from a spiritual perspective it is most definitely no laughing matter. Why is this true?

Let's think about it. Disciples of Jesus are to engage the lost and have conversations that lead them to the truth of Christ?(Acts 17:1-4). But when we say things and ask bad questions based on bad thinking, we forfeit credibility and the world is much more inclined to dismiss?us and our message.

That is why it is so important for us to worship, pray, study and stay connected to seasoned Christians. Doing so helps us grow in our knowledge of Jesus (2 Pet. 3:18), a knowledge that, by God's grace,?helps us to lead?others to the Lord!

Do you want to talk more about it??Are you interested in?becoming?part?of a fun and loving faith family serving the Christ?with passion, purpose and power in downtown Richmond? Feel free to?contact us here.?

And if your schedule allows (and we hope it does!),?come?worship with us?at 813 West Broad Street?this?Sunday morning?at 10:30 (Bible classes for all ages at 9:30). You'll find?parking information here.

Onsite or?online,?you will always experience a warm welcome and an encouraging, relevant?word from the Lord with the West Broad Church of Christ.?We certainly hope to see you soon!
