Refreshed LEAP qualifications launching soon

We are pleased to announce that the review of our LEAP qualifications is now complete and the refreshed Suite is ready to be launched on 1st March 2024.?? Our LEAP qualifications have been highly valued by our centres and we wanted to ensure they remain reflective of the modern world and continue to deliver value to a new generation of learners, while remaining easy to use for our centres.

Refreshed LEAP qualifications

We undertook thorough research, analysing our data and the feedback we received from our centres. We created a streamlined, up-to-date set of qualifications that can successfully prepare learners for the next stage of their learning journey. The majority of our units were found to be robust and fit for purpose, however, the review resulted in some new units being developed, and some existing units being amended and replaced.

To meet the requirements of the national curriculum, 2024 sees the introduction of three brand new units covering the themes of British values and the Prevent Duty.

Also available from 1st March is a new unit which covers Using Digital Communications. Many of our units have been refreshed including those around online safety and recycling/ waste management.

Next steps and key dates

The refreshed suite of LEAP qualifications will be available from 1st March 2024. Registrations for units that are being replaced will remain open until 30th September 2024. Existing qualifications will remain open for those already registered on them. Any learners who are registered on or have completed units that are being replaced will be awarded the new unit as an equivalent. This means that their achievement of the qualification will be unaffected.
