As you maintain and update your website, you clear the cache to refresh. LinkedIn is a website, so why not refresh it, too? Read on for the “how to.”
I never thought about this concept until I heard Kevin D. Turner speak at a recent event I attended at the Thought Leadership Branding Club.
He suggested you take your profile off public and then put it back again.?
When I think about all of the job boards on the internet, it’s the same concept. If you remove yourself from being active on a job board, and then re-upload your resume and profile, you are a new, fresh candidate.
Follow these instructions for your profile refresh:
While you are there, check all your other settings and ensure they are set the way you want.?
Make sure your profile photo is set to public so people can see your friendly, charismatic smile. I have all of the other buttons set green to show.
Another important thing is to ensure you have customized your LinkedIn URL and you don’t have letters and numbers after your name. It takes only seconds to do.?
However, if someone else with your exact name has already done that, you need to have options to make it unique, so read this article for ideas.
