Reframing negative thoughts
Every success is dependent on how our brain thinks about it. Typically negative thoughts like 'I cannot do it' or 'It is impossible' invade the mind to construct initial roadblock. There are many mental hacks to tackle this mental block and one of them is 'Reframing negative thoughts'. It is a technique to assess the situation and then change the perspective about it. It is not a practice of 'wishful thinking' or 'denying the reality', rather it offers a realistic, productive thought process to tackle the challenge.
Here is a 5-step method to get a new beginning:
1. Identify seemingly impossible target
e.g. Being a millionaire before 30.
2. Frame it using the word 'cannot' or 'not'
e.g. I cannot be a millionaire before 30.
3. Add 'yet' to the end of above sentence
e.g. I cannot be a millionaire before 30, yet.
4. Ask 'what it takes to make it happen?"
e.g. learning new skills, taking small steps to get the momentum.
5. Repeat it for each negative thought
Reframing provides an encouraging perspective for seemingly impossible challenges while staying rooted in reality.
