Reflective shift

In this week's Joy FM Snippet, the reflection allows you an opportunity to play around with a shift.
What is frustrating you right this minute, if anything.
Evaluate how much of that frustration is coming directly from judgment or "shoulds" or "shouldn'ts".
Now take that same set of circumstance and shift to curiosity.
A recent example from a coachee: "This patient shouldn't be on my schedule" (and in no way are we suggesting they "should"). We are just noticing what that feels like. The seeing what the shift feels like.
Changing to curiosity, "I wonder why my schedule was chosen. I wonder what the patient really needs. I am curious to see what the visit will be like."
It didn't remove the patient from the schedule, but the shift allowed the physician to have less anticipatory dread, judgement, anger, and resentment. And it allowed them to get a glimpse of how they may even enjoy the process.
It also still allows them to advocate for system optimization discussions with the appropriate people in the appropriate setting and time.
It's a small shift but it can relieve unnecessary suffering on top of the challenge you're facing. Try it and let me know what you notice.
Have a joy-filled week! Tonya
