Reflections of a Young Warrior: Distraction + Focus 11/21/2020
Hello all
I’m writing you this letter as I reflect on this week.
It’s Sunday and there are so many things that I could be doing.
So many things that I can be focusing on
And I find myself getting distracted very easily.
This past week I spent it hard-focused eyes to the grindstone and making 100 phone calls a day. It’s not an easy task and it requires a lot of concentration and focus.
Especially when I am scared of rejection and judgement
As the weekend comes along, I welcome my free flowing creative energy that isn’t disciplined but simply flows.
Lately i’ve had to make decisions on my business that I don’t want to do.
I’ve taken on so many opportunities and I realize the more I put on my plate
The less results I get
So my practice has been simplifying everything
I made this decision to get a job as a Labourer in construction
That way I have money coming in — not on commission but as a guaranteed salary as I build my business
Building a company includes many risks and I need a sense of safety and security to make sure I can survive
Frustrated have I been as I grind hard on my business and can struggle paying my bills.
As humble as it makes me, I have to reset sometimes and start from scratch
I’ve been working on my businesses for almost 4 years now and i’ve learned 3 things
- Always have a constant stream of money flowing
- Focusing on ONE thing will bring the most results
- Having a salary paying job can help cover your business expenses as I grow (this one has been hard for me to swallow)
Getting distracted is so easy, especially when I go on Youtube or I see an AD on Facebook on a successful business owner
I can easily get sucked in
And when I get sucked in, it’s only because I didn’t have enough faith in this business
So as I let my creative juices flow freely, without a place of concentration or guideline — I am here to be me
That focus needs a little bit of distraction
Discipline needs a balance of creativity
A business needs a little bit of money.
Have a great day, thanks for listening.
