Reflections on overcoming adversity
My colleague, Kelly Kehoe, writes about lessons learned after a year of pandemic restrictions in her latest blog this month. She notes that the Ed Lowry Memorial Award for Citizenship emphasizes overcoming adversity, something my longtime friend, Ed did early on in life. He also was someone who could work with others he knew disagreed with him. He found creative ways to bring people together around common cause in their community. Ed did this in his professional life in telecommunications along with his civic life in church and community. The award encourages people to continue living those values and honors amazing work done by nominees over the last year. Mark your calendars for our celebration of Ed's legacy and hear about the many inspiring nominees for this year's award. May 21st at 7pm EST. Read the rest of Kelly's blog here.
