Reflections on my adopted country
Like many people, I watched in shock and disbelief as an unruly mob attacked our nation’s Capitol yesterday. This was an assault on our democratic processes and institutions that we the people hold sacred. It was unprecedented and reprehensible; that it was aided and abetted for personal, political gains makes it even more repugnant.
It is simply not enough to condemn these acts; we must hold those responsible accountable and forcefully address the systemic issues that result in the type of convulsion we witnessed yesterday.
If we don’t come together as Americans to engage in honest conversations about our values and our aspirations for our future, we will have failed our people and our country that we love.

3 年Agreed Punit, I'm watching from my adopted country Australia, listening to people in the US wanting death to police officers, our fellow human beings, incitement of violence that is still going on. It is truely saddening. It looks like it will take some work to unite such a divided nation.
