Happy Mother's Day 2021!

Reflections on Mother's Day 2021

Once again, I'm celebrating Mother's Day doing the hustling for Piggyback once again. I can't help it but thinking through the Dejavu. Last year it was during Circuit Breaker and now, I left the previous job role and was in this interim period which I called the gap period to go all way out.

My kids often asked me, "Mummy, why can't you trade your hectic life with something peaceful?" Honestly, when I told everyone about my move to leave NAMIC and built Piggyback and all the businesses under the care to move the family out of a certain degree of crisis. None of the kids supported except my siblings and parents for obvious yet personal reasons.

Honestly, I didn't share much to people on the professional settings about the various setbacks that I've go through but I always believed, hardwork will definitely reach someone who will appreciate the work I've done one day.

Last May was tough for me because honestly, I had a mental meltdown because I have to go through a period of pain and hurt caused by someone dear but a lifeline came by my ex-Boss, Dr Ho Chaw Sing offered me a role at NAMIC Singapore when I have zero domain knowledge in Additive Manufacturing and 3DP. I have a good 10 months learning something new and I will be forever grateful to my ex-colleagues-turned-friends, Weifen, Lynn and Mahendran who heard me out during my lowest period. Sincerely thank you as all the hustling at work took my mind off many stuff. And of course all my other closest friends and kins who have took turns to show me that light at the end of the tunnel.

Back to Entrepreneurship, my daughters have witnessed how hard I fought and all the terrible moments when I need to work to fund back to the family business/ startups, but I believed, I will attain that goal out there as long I kept on trying and at the same time to teach the kiddos, the lessons on giving and persevere in what you always believe in.

I remember a lunch firechat session organised by NewCampus that I've attended and the speaker, Sang Shin shared, that no one will believe in founders until you believe in yourself and perseverance will bring you far whether you succeed or failed, u will definitely learn something.

It's 9th May once again and to all the mothers who are hustling out there, fret not, you are not alone.

It's ok to go through the dark stages, it's ok to be depressed, it's ok to doubt yourself but always remember, God sent the toughest battles to the strongest soldiers.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone and myself. And grateful to those who lend me your helping hands when I needed most.

P.S: You can reach out to me if you need a listening ear.
