Reflections on Life at 40s

As I turned 40 this year, the saying "Life begins at 40" dawned on me. I started thinking about how reaching this age is a big deal. It made me realize that if we plan things carefully in our personal and work lives, we often achieve important milestones by the time we're 40.

By now, many of us have achieved major life goals:

1. We have gotten married and started our own families.

2. We own our own house and car.

3. Most of us have surpassed 15 years of work experience.

4. We have become parents, experiencing the ups and downs of raising kids and hearing their laughter fill our homes.

If we plan our family life well, these achievements neatly line up, and by the time we hit 40, we're at the point where we might be thinking or must have already started thinking and planning our retirement life. It's a big change. In the next 20 years, we see our children completing their formal education and entering the working world, while we step back from our careers.

Life changes after 40. What used to be, until now, all about our own achievements now includes the things our children accomplish. It's not just our goals, our career, and our achievements but also about our children's goals, their career, and their milestones.

It's incredibly satisfying to see our kids not only follow in our footsteps but also do even better than we did.

The 40s are also a time when our bodies, which are also machines, need more attention. Many of us start losing hair, develop weaker eyesight, or possibly develop some ailment that needs to be taken care of.

So taking care of our bodies is one of the most important tasks, apart from other personal and professional tasks we do.

In my case, I feel lucky to be the parent of two amazing individuals, Yoshika and Shreyansh—my own rockstars. As I embrace being 40, I'm excited to see them make their paths and achieve more than I ever imagined.

Also, it's been quite some time since I have been super consistent in taking care of my physical and mental health.

So here's to 40—a celebration of life's journey and the joy of seeing the next generation do even better . Cheers to the wisdom that comes with age and the happiness that comes from the success of the people we care about. #LifeBeginsAt40 #CareerDevelopment #FamilyFirst#AchievementUnlocked #BalancedLifestyle#PersonalGrowth#ParentingJourney#CareerMilestone#SuccessStories#LifeCelebration#retirement #lifemilestones
