Reflections on Leap London 2019

Reflections on Leap London 2019

After a few days of down time, the team are back to work following an incredible #2019Leap London, and before we all get caught up back in our 'day job' I wanted to reflect on last weeks event.

Now in it’s third year, Leap London has grown from 130 attendees in 2017 to over 420 this year, it’s gone from being a Workfront 'user conference', to an event for leaders who want to master modern work. These are leaders who understand that in the modern age of digital transformation, work needs to be managed differently.

In his keynote, Workfront CEO Alex Shootman explained that he believed that this group were the leaders that some day soon would be best positioned for a C-suite role of the future... The ‘Chief Work Officer’. This belief was really underscored as he told stories of some of the amazing Workfront customers and their recent promotions within their organisations.

Those stories of leaders excelling and developing their careers really epitomised what Leap was about this year. It was great to see so many of our brilliant Workfront customers front and centre; on main-stage, presenting break-out sessions, winning awards & on-camera telling stories of the impact they have made within their organisations by mastering modern work.

I personally got to have some fantastic conversations with some of these leaders, one thing I found across the couple of days, was that every time I spoke to a Workfront customer I learnt something new. I was also fortunate enough to meet and spend time with industry analysts Dennis Howlett and Vinnie Mirchandani, I got to listen and learn from them and enjoy an out-of-this-world dinner together at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.

Months and months of blood, sweat and tears by the fantastic events team led by Sophie Beake were all made worthwhile last week…. The teamwork and bond that comes when putting on an event of this size is so amazing to see, and I’m proud to say, the team did a fantastic job of executing on one of Workfronts core values: Obsess Over Customers.

Last week was definitely a highlight of 2019 so far, and I have to say... It wasn’t too bad getting to share the stage with Dame Kelly Holmes either.

Now who’s ready for #2020Leap?
