As we wind down the holidays and approach a new year, I can't help but take time to reflect on my life and the past year. I was at a funeral a few weeks ago for an elderly family friend, and listening to the wonderful things that people had to say about her, I wondered to myself, "What will people have to say about me? Have I done enough good in the world? Have I made an impact in the lives of others?"
I decided to take some time to write down the person I want to become. Where do I want my life to go? What things do I want people to say about me at my funeral? What do I need to do to develop those qualities and characteristics to ensure that's how I am remembered?
As we approach a new year, a new decade, and in each new day, I want to encourage you to take some time to do inventory. Reflect on these questions and answer them truthfully. Then go out and make this next year a breakthrough year of really becoming that person you ultimately want to become.
