Reflections
I’ve been a part of the FedEx family for 23 years, and as I approach my one-year anniversary with FedEx Ground, I can’t help but reflect on the absolutely incredible things our team members accomplished in the past 12 months. Every day, our people strive for excellence in ensuring the sortation, transportation and delivery of millions of packages. While customers get to see their packages delivered to their doors, they don’t always get to see the compassion, selflessness, and empathy our employees demonstrate both at work and in the community.
Like one of our pickup and delivery managers in Tampa who searched a full trailer for hours to find a bride’s wedding dress on the day of her wedding. Or the senior operations administrator in Broken Arrow who saved a dog on the side of the road while on his way to work – even going the extra mile to help it find a new home.
These are the stories that inspire me, and there are countless others just like these that happen every day. In some cases, our employees use detective skills – and maybe some elbow grease – to ensure deliveries of packages that are important to someone. In other cases, they are a different kind of hero – rescuing strangers in crisis or helping someone in a time of need. Working for this company is like getting to live out the saying “not all heroes wear capes.” It’s so very true. Sometimes they work for and represent the highly respected FedEx brand.
As we look ahead to the new fiscal year and prepare for what’s next, we know it is essential that we continue investing in our people – whether they work in support functions or on the front lines. For example, we’re enhancing our package handler benefits to add more flexibility with their paid time off and increasing tuition reimbursement. And that’s only the start.
Every week, we’re recruiting and onboarding thousands of new team members to help ensure our evolving operations run smoothly. Those interested in being a part of our extraordinary team can visit groundwarehousejobs.fedex.com to learn more about available package handler positions, or careers.fedex.com for non-package handler positions. Our people will always be our greatest asset, and I look forward to growing this world-class team so that FedEx remains “the network for what’s next.”

3 年As a FedEx retiree, I can't tell you how proud I continue to be of the FedEx brand. Seeing the planes and the vans still excite me! The people there are phenomenal. I recently shared an example about my former VP, you of course, who is now a SVP. There is much to be said about the mindset of FedEx leadership and its employees. Somewhere along the way, we embraced the notion that it is our thinking that drives our behavior, which in turn drives our results. Remember that? So glad that you are continuing to soar, Chris! By the way, I believe you do have a cape.
