REFLECTIONS – Breaking forth into Light by Aderinale Adedeji

Reflection sometimes makes the probability of taking a right decision easy. I would say without reflection there won’t be a more convincing decision.

 From the Science point of view, the physicists propounded (‘The Law of Reflection) that there is an incident ray and a reflected ray, this aspect of physics emphasizes on the aspect of Light waves talking about mirrors, light casted on a mirror would reflect back, which shows that science understands the principle of reflection. Back to the Incident ray, lamely breaking down I would say the incident is PAST, the mirror is YOU and Reflected is the PRESENT. There is an angle via which there is break forth from incident to reflected, (angle of Inclination). The angle of inclination means lamely a path that trans descend the reflection, so there is a specific angle that would yield reflections.

Speaking from the theological/Biblical perspective, the Greek word for Reflection is enthumesis (pronounced – ‘en-thoo-may-sis’). It is means to ‘look inwards’.  Now, the word lays emphasis on examining one’s self, because it is key for growth. According to Romans 1:28, it simply says people do absurd things because, they refused to retain God in their knowledge.  So, in other words if we refuse to reflect, then we refuse to grow and we prone to very bad decisions.

What does reflection do?

Reflection accesses information through the engaging of the amygdala and neocortex path for critical thinking which in turn helps us make favorable/ best possible decisions.

How do you reflect?

It is evident that a clouded room breeds suffocation, also the voice of the mind cannot be heard, if there is no calm. The reflection process design I recommend are;

§ Find Solace: to find solace you would have to segregate yourself, a good practice of Yoga brings aims at bringing inner peace. So, silence is key. Let the atmosphere be so quite that you could hear your heart beat.

§ Focus: The eyes as cool as it is for seeing, it is not a tool for vision. So, true vision lies beyond the eyes. So, close the eyes to avoid distraction and ensure you are sitting comfortably, but not lying down.

§ Meditate: Meditation is quite deeper than surface thinking, a habit of meditation is built over time and it starts from when you can fix your gaze on a particular thing for an extended period of time, such that you would bring that thing to reality in absence of the thing. So, the link between Meditation and Vision is ‘The eyes of the Mind’.

§ Reflect: I end with reflection because, a thorough meditation would help being exact about the subject matter such that you are at a point where you have the objects of thoughts known. So, reflection then helps dissect each objects by picking details of each and concluding on the matter.

On a final note, check a man who has not made progress, I would then show you a man who has not reflected. This is my point of view; the ultimate reflection is reflection that you are still the faith in Christ. ‘We look on him and our faces were radiant and we were not ashamed…’

ADEDEJI MOSES ADERINALE B.Tech, thank you, I look forward to collaborating, all the best??

Both are great, you can grow without mistake with great people around you helping to make your way between those paved roads, also doing some mistakes, falling down of the road, can lead to many successful things and not only negative outcomes. Failing is great, as long it's not costly :) #ShareKnowledge for #Free #Cheers ADEDEJI MOSES ADERINALE B.Tech

Great write up ADEDEJI MOSES. We definitely need to reflect and think through things before taking actions. Though it's possible one still makes wrong decisions even after reflection. I believe even after reflecting, we need God's leading and direction when making decisions. "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding." - Job 32:8 Thanks for the kind mention. I'm truly honored.
