Reflections on Bicameral Parliament and Political Developments

Recently, various parties have been proposing not just constitutional amendments but also reforms in the legal system. Some are advocating for a bicameral parliament. Well, let’s delve into the idea of a bicameral parliament in a more complex manner.

In my opinion:?

1. No one should be allowed into the parliament without being directly elected by the people.?

2. There will be elections for 400 seats. The lower house will have 300 seats. Based on proportional votes, 100 members from the lower house will have the opportunity to join the upper house. The selection of these members will be decided jointly by the winning and losing parties.?

3. The Prime Minister will lead the lower house, while the President will head the upper house.

4. The President should be elected through public votes. Their popularity and the weighted score of the party that nominates or supports them can be considered in the election.?

5. The winning party will form the government and elect the Prime Minister, who will then form the Cabinet. The Cabinet can be a national-level Cabinet if required, particularly reflecting proportional vote counts.?

6. The Cabinet must be formed with members from the upper house. The President will have the authority to appoint 10 technocrat ministers in the Cabinet. In this case, the total number of seats in the upper house will be 110. The Prime Minister will head this Cabinet. The Cabinet can impeach the President, but it would require the votes of all 110 upper house members. Similarly, the upper house can impeach the Prime Minister, but it would need approval from the lower house.?

7. Any laws or reforms proposed in the lower house must go through discussions and majority voting before being presented in the Cabinet. Decisions approved by the Cabinet will be proposed as bills in the upper house, where the President, with the majority's consent, will play a direct role in passing the bills.

This morning, I woke up with random, tangled thoughts pondering these ideas, which made my mind even messier. Eventually, I went back to sleep. (Though I don’t have enough hair on my head to get tangled! ??)? After waking up, I heard the news that India and America want elections in the country soon.? I like the same, but why do they want it?

Did they have anything to do with the July coup??
