Leading a team of designers, applied researchers and educators to build the future of learning and assessment.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Advancing Artificial Intelligence, Measurement and Assessment System Innovation Summit on September 26th at the Planet Word Museum in Washington, DC.
Together, we worked to deepen partnerships among leaders from 40 philanthropic foundations and 15 federal agencies and strengthen a shared understanding of high-leverage approaches for data, artificial intelligence, and measurement and assessment system R&D and innovation aligned to a wider transformative vision for the future of learning, working, teaching, and leading. The Summit brought together leaders from the Bidden-Harris Administration and strategic philanthropies and included trailblazing state chiefs, civil rights and union leaders, scientists, and solution developers.
We appreciate colleagues for joining the conversation about how best to advance opportunities and joint efforts for developing and harnessing the best of assessment, measurement, AI, and data practice, technology, and policy to better meet the needs of students, workers, educators, and society.
Together, we explored the need for the following:
Innovating for whom we measure: An opportunity exists to center the needs of learners, workers, educators, families, and the wider community. The sciences of learning, development, measurement, and improvement can be leveraged to power innovation that advances equity and opportunity.
Innovating what we measure: Our north stars can and must capture and express a more holistic vision of the skills, knowledge, contexts, and dispositions learners and workers need to develop, learn, and thrive.
Innovating how we measure: In order to measure what matters most, we must unlock new advances in measurement, design, science, and technology.
Presenters
During the Summit, we heard from dozens of senior leaders in philanthropy and federal policy, and trailblazers from statehouses and classrooms, scientists and solution developers, including:?
