Reflections on 2023, and focus for the Year Ahead.

First of all, I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

As I write this, it feels like we celebrated the New Year just a couple of weeks ago. I guess that's what happens when you are hyper-focused and executing on all cylinders -- you kinda lose track of time. And it takes a break like Christmas, where you spend time with family and friends, chugging (spiked) eggnog and home-cooked Tandoori Chicken when you take the time to reflect on the past year.

We've come a looooooooooong way in 2023 -- here are a few highlights (details below)

• For the first time in our history, we've deployed our industry-leading Short Interval Control and Fleet Management System outside the US and Canada (home markets) than inside.
• We are now building and deploying our own hardware and sensors for a wide variety of use cases in both open pits and underground operations (Telemetry, High Precision GPS, RTLS, Motes, etc).
• We've released even more automation tools - for auto-allocation, greedy scheduling, load-haul optimization, ore control and inventory tracking, advanced analytics, and digital twinning.
• We've released even more apps so everyone on the mine site can feed data and consume insights from our unified Digitization and Automation Platform - a couple of examples are MagLogs (for Explosives Inventory Management), and the Spotter App (for real-time ore routing in open pits)

We have a lot more on our roadmap for 2024:

• A comprehensive CMMS built specifically for mining companies, and mining contractors (with integrations into SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, and other Asset Lifecycle management systems)
• Advanced Collision Alerts System (to go beyond level 7)
• Retrofit existing heavy equipment to enable remote control operations
• And a bunch of other things that we will keep under the covers for now.

And now for the details:

What Defined 2023? Last year we witnessed the introduction of several noteworthy features, all of which will elevate our offerings. GroundHog is well-positioned and poised to now focus on how to superserve open pit customers this year and next. And we will continue to penetrate underground with our strong portfolio of tools purpose built for the underground environment, as the tech provider with the greatest maturity in underground solutions.

Notable advancements included the implementation of automatic trip counting, payload monitoring, and seamless integration with high-precision solutions tailored for open pit mines. The Spotter App emerged as a powerful tool, empowering spotters to track ore and provide real-time notifications to haulers. This functionality significantly enhances plan compliance and ore quality, reinforcing our commitment to working with our customers to help them reach their operational excellence goals.

The incorporation of Real-Time Location System (RTLS) marked a pivotal stride in our dedication to miner safety, a concern we share with our customers and which will always remain paramount. Additionally, the Automatic Shift Allocation System proved instrumental in extending effective shift lengths for underground mines, underscoring our commitment to enhancing safety and efficiency within the mining industry.

In the realm of maintenance, new features were introduced to streamline operations. These included planning and scheduling maintenance activities, monitoring engine hours, and efficiently managing spare parts and consumables inventory, ensuring that equipment remains in optimal condition. Ultimately, this all reduces variability and ensures steady adherence to the plan.

GroundHog Academy Launch: A noteworthy initiative launched in 2023 was GroundHog Academy. Designed to empower students and professionals in the mining technology sector, the academy currently offers two courses and boasts certification for approximately 100 professionals. GroundHog Academy stands as the premier resource for individuals seeking to acquire knowledge and skills related to mine digitization and GroundHog products. Mining is an industry on the cusp of significant change and progress, and it is inspiring to work with so many individuals who are dedicated to leading that change. ?

Global Expansion and Customer Success: Building on our successes, we expanded our solutions in established markets like Australia, the United States, and Canada, while venturing into new territories such as Saudi Arabia, Zambia, and Egypt. Positive feedback from diverse mining environments underscored the effectiveness of our solutions. Notably, our team witnessed significant growth in Australia, India, and the USA, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and service excellence. With technology, the world has grown smaller in terms of access to expertise and solutions that will make mining safer and more productive wherever it may take place. As a truly international company with an international team of experts, GroundHog is eager to see who we will work with next, and where.?

Looking Ahead: As we approach the conclusion of 2023 and welcome 2024, the anticipation for further growth and development is palpable. We eagerly look forward to an upcoming year brimming with expansion opportunities, heightened customer satisfaction, and continued team growth.
