A reflection on a year that has seen us celebrate success and face new challenges in equal measure

The year seems to have flown past and now here we are in the festive season again, looking forward to spending time with family and friends to recharge the batteries ready for the new year ahead.

2024 has been an interesting year, the first half saw challenges with the economy, inflation and interest rate rises. Shortly followed by the inevitable change in Government which then led to organisations and individuals holding on the status quo, unsure what a new Government would mean going forward.

Then moving swiftly towards the final quarter and the new Autumn budget was in everyone’s thoughts…. We now know the outcome of the budget, but perhaps not yet the impact on the job market and how this will influence decisions made in terms of permanent appointments and executive role decisions.

These are all areas that at Grichan Whitestone Partnership, we cannot control, but instead focus on dealing with the outcomes.

For the areas that are within our control, within our organisation, it has been a year of investment and growth. We have welcomed new members to our team, Kate Brown and Susan Black. Kate joined us in January with a background in systems and processes within Talent Acquisition and Susan joined in April from a global FTSE 250 Recruitment and Executive Search business where she spent over 21 years working predominantly on Executive Search and Interim Management assignments across Transformation, Operational Improvement, Change and Strategy and Finance.

Seeing this growth in the team has meant that as a boutique recruitment business we continue to be positioned well to deliver exceptional customer experience, and a rapid and effective response when clients come to us with new appointments. With an expanding team we have invested in a new office on Park Row, Leeds and we have also secured growth funding to enable us to increase our marketing activity into the new year and build upon the strength of our existing reputation within the sectors that we operate.

We are focused on building on the investment of 2024 to make us stronger for 2025 and beyond.
