It has been said that art is a reflection of the times in which we live.?So I’ve called my newsletter Weird and Wonderful partly because we live in such weird and wonderful times.

Join me and enjoy my somewhat offbeat mix of books, articles and poems and let’s see where the journey takes us.

To kick off here’s a poem I wrote as a reflection of the times we’re in:

BREAK OUT

Break out! Break out! Break out of this mad swirl

The wide-mouthed shout – the anger and the pain

Let calm return, let gentle soaking rain

bring quiet to this violent storm; this furious hurricane.

Bring back the boring and the dull;

the tedium and the grey of every day

and I will struggle down the same old path with no regrets

Just give me back my sanity again.
