It’s Done! My 60th Birthday Party is Over

It was a tremendous success. People came from poor physical health to a broken heart; from Black to white to multicultural, young to old, humankind to animal kind, family friends, work, civic engagement, environment to TV. Bringing all types and kinds of people together is a mirror of my TV show unifying different cultures and background and part of my personal philosophy.

It was a great fortune to have a clear blue sky and warm weather without the need for any sweater or jacket, as I am always in need of one.

The sign featuring the invitation by Minuteman Press, Torrance was up; the banner for Rosalyn Kahn, Professional Speaker, TV Host stood for all to see from the balcony. There were fresh flowers on each table set by Maria Tiacas with several orchards on each, and potpourri from Rosalyn’s passion awaited the arrival of the guest.

Each stood as the outcome of a positive mindset. I can handle everything that comes my way, and success is top of mind. This was all despite the outpouring of last-minute cancellations, a staple of every event planner.

I was elated to see my dear friend who helped me host my first Father’s Day event years ago and model under her guise come to capture the video recording of each of the guests. Thanks to Galina Capanni who took the role as the head of videography and for sharing with her audience.

I lamented my 20 quotes from my dear friends who were unable to share in the day’s activity. These quotes came from around the world. I had carefully prepared on the last drops of ink four pages of messages.

At the party, I chose to read the words of Ghazala Jabeen whose program I addressed “Our lady Leaders Lunch and Leader Club” from England whom I had met on another International Women’s platform. We have been on several stages but have never met personally. Yet we consider each other best friends. The second quoted I read was from Katherine Orho , a lady who helps me work on my flyers and post from Canva to social media. The combination of these two stories gave the picture of Rosalyn as a multitalented individual the arts.

One touching moment was when my younger brother, Mitchell, stood up to speak and recounted an earlier story of my father who worked so hard to make other’s lives so happy. He mentioned how I have followed in his footsteps. As my sister, Robin, in Northern CA reminded me, “Mom and dad are looking down from heaven to be here.”

It was gratifying to have all the attendees from all parts and practices of my life. One special attendee was a young performer by the name of Lakshmi. I mentor and recognize a lot of youth in every event. I am drawn like a magnet to the youth. I help to empower and strengthen their esteem to be their best.?Her mom introduced me as her mentor.

A special surprise was having Mike Grisham from Love Mission come to my event after two days of serving food to the homeless. I was also thrilled to see Laura Difusco who faced some personal challenges but made it nonetheless. A famous performer, Ofir Engel, was able to spontaneously show up, and my dear friend from Ontario who fights sitting in cars for long periods had made it there. ?Best of all, Katherine Orho made it in person, and I was so happy to see her. ?

I enjoyed taking the video of the headwaiter, Anthony. You should have seen the smile on his face, as he had never been on TV before. It was great to hear a waiter who had been in the business for five years rave about his boss who allows him time to surf and even surf the big waves of Hawaii.

The food came out, and I loved the food as a health conscious fitness buff. It was great to watch everybody eat and enjoy!

My favorite part of the day was when my guests went around the room to introduce themselves. There were so many beautiful stories of how I met each one of them.

For a life filled with Bandaids, hurt, worry, and despair, it was a moment to reframe and reflect on the simple idea, to be present and authentic, to enjoy the power and stardom of love, support, and joy. This party was a day I will always cherish as truly one of the best days of my life.

I thank God and am grateful for the human elements, the ability to see, feel, and touch. I recognize a face and see deep inside. This is how I know the essence of being

I sit and reflect the following day to hear the bird chipper and rooster roost. The next-door neighbor’s engine starts, and the door slams shut. It is simple reminder that it‘s back to the world of life’s duties.

Sing me a melody!

Hum me a tune!

Let the belly dancer sway and the singer reach the height of a Soprano singing.

The waves will splash to the shore,

The sun will set and blossom with the colors of the rainbow.

The scent of the flowers will fill the air.
